Custom 3D prototyping — from design to finished part in 24-48h
Rapid FDM prototyping for companies and design engineers. We produce functional prototypes, concept models and short production runs — with a quote in 24 hours and courier shipping across Poland.
In short
3D prototyping shortens the path from design to a physical part from weeks to days, because it needs no mould and no tooling. Drukujemy3D.pl prints functional prototypes in technical materials – Nylon, PA-CF, ABS, ASA and PETG – from a single piece, with a quote within 24 hours.
- What for: checking fit, strength and ergonomics before production
- Functional materials: Nylon, PA-CF, ABS, ASA, PETG
- Run size: from 1 piece – including further iterations of the same model
- Entry cost: no injection mould, so no tooling cost
- No CAD model? We rebuild it from photos and measurements or from a 3D scan
Rapid 3D prototyping — cut testing time from weeks to days
FDM 3D printing is today the fastest route from a CAD model to a physical part in the engineer’s hands. We deliver rapid prototyping — from functional prototypes through concept models to low-volume production for manufacturers, design offices and hardware startups.
Traditional manufacturing methods — CNC machining, casting, injection moulding — require tooling and moulds to be prepared, which runs to thousands of zlotys and weeks of lead time. Rapid prototyping with 3D printing removes that barrier: you send an STL or STEP file, we print it and send the finished part back by courier. You make your changes, order the next iteration — with no additional tooling costs whatsoever.
We specialise in FDM prototyping in technical materials: Nylon, ABS, ASA, PETG. These are not decorative PLA prints — they are parts that withstand mechanical loads, work at elevated temperatures and can go straight into functional testing.
Which projects is 3D prototyping suited to?
Custom 3D prototyping proves itself across dozens of industries — wherever iteration speed and the absence of tooling costs are what matter.
Functional prototypes
Parts for mechanical testing — assemblies, brackets, equipment housings. FDM printing in Nylon or ABS lets you verify fit and strength before committing to expensive series production.
Concept models
Models for presentations to clients, investors and sales teams. Rapid verification of form and proportion without involving a toolroom.
Furniture and design prototypes
Hinge components, connectors and decorative trim details for furniture designers and interior fittings manufacturers — checking the geometry before it goes into production.
Tooling and jigs
Assembly templates, welding jigs, machining fixtures and auxiliary production tools — cheaper and faster than milling them from metal or plastic.
Automotive and youngtimers
Unavailable clips, mountings, decorative components and small plastic details for classic cars and youngtimers — made from photos or from original parts used as a pattern.
Low-volume production
When injection moulding is too expensive at low volumes — 3D printing pays off up to roughly 100-500 pieces, depending on geometry. You order exactly what you need, with no mould charges.
3D printing vs traditional prototyping — when does printing pay off?
3D printing does not replace everything — but for small batches and fast iteration it is unbeatable on both cost and time.
| Criterion | FDM 3D printing | CNC milling | Injection moulding |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time to first part | 1-3 days | 3-10 days | 4-12 weeks |
| Tooling / mould cost | None | Low | PLN 5,000-50,000 |
| Minimum batch | 1 piece | 1 piece | 500-10,000 pcs |
| Cost of a design change | None (a new file) | Low | High (modifying the mould) |
| Complex geometries | Yes | Limited | Limited |
| Cost-effective above >1000 pcs | No | Depends | Yes |
Materials for functional prototyping
For technical prototypes we use FDM materials with properties close to the final product — not just PLA for display models.
High resistance to abrasive wear and dynamic loads. For gears, plain bearings, bushings and components exposed to friction. Flexible, tough, chemically resistant.
A classic engineering material — good impact strength, temperature resistance up to ~85°C. For electronics housings, mechanical components and prototypes that need surface finishing.
Mechanical properties similar to ABS, with added resistance to UV radiation and weathering. Ideal for prototypes intended for outdoor use.
A good starting point for most technical prototypes — strong, chemically resistant, easy to post-process. A lower price point than Nylon.
Carbon-fibre reinforced nylon — very high stiffness at low weight. For prototypes with requirements approaching metal, at a fraction of its weight.
A rubber-like elastomer for prototype seals, dampers, protective pads and components that need flexibility and resistance to compression.

From file to prototype in 4 steps
The whole process is remote and takes from a few hours to a few days — depending on complexity and the turnaround mode.
Send the file and a description
Send an STL/STEP model and describe the application, the mechanical requirements and your preferred material. We also accept photos with dimensions where there is no CAD model.
Quote in 24h
We check the file, select the printing parameters and send back a binding offer with the price, material and deadline. In express mode a reply within a few hours is possible.
Printing and inspection
We print at optimal settings, remove the supports and carry out a dimensional check. For critical assemblies we can include a measurement report.
Courier shipping
We pack securely and ship by courier or InPost parcel locker. VAT invoice sent electronically. For further iterations, a modified file is all we need.
How much does 3D prototyping cost?
The cost of a prototype depends mainly on the volume of material and the printing time. Below are typical orders of magnitude — we will prepare an exact quote once we receive your file. We invoice in PLN; euro amounts are indicative and converted at the current exchange rate.
A functional part up to 50 g
A housing or structural component
A run of 10-100 pieces
Minimum order value: PLN 50 net (~€12). More about 3D printing quotes →
Frequently asked questions — 3D prototyping
Can I order just one prototype?
Yes. We print from a single piece with no minimum order quantity (beyond the PLN 50 net minimum value). That is one of the main reasons 3D printing is replacing traditional prototyping.
Which file format should I send for a prototype quote?
We prefer STL or STEP — both give good geometric fidelity. We also accept OBJ, 3MF and ZIP for multiple files. No model? Photos with dimensions, or the damaged part as a pattern, are enough.
How quickly can I get a prototype?
Normally 3-5 business days from acceptance of the quote. In express mode we produce and ship within 24-48h for a surcharge — tick it in the quote form.
Are FDM prototypes suitable for functional testing?
Yes — with the right choice of material. Nylon and PA-CF withstand dynamic loads, ABS/ASA work up to ~85°C, and TPU replaces rubber seals. Describe the working conditions of the part and we will select the right material.
When is low-volume 3D printing better value than injection moulding?
3D printing is economically justified up to roughly 100-500 pieces depending on geometry — mainly because there is no injection mould cost (PLN 5,000-50,000, roughly €1,200-11,500). Above that, injection moulding becomes cheaper per piece.
Do you sign an NDA before receiving files?
Yes. On projects covered by confidentiality we sign an NDA before any technical documentation changes hands. Write to us through the contact form or mention it in your quote enquiry.
